Marty did an excellent job while serving as CFO for a portfolio company in our Hedge Fund.  Marty stepped into a unstable situation with the company and was able to provide guidance and financial leadership it required.  As CFO, he was hands on, he had a “get the job done” attitude and valued corporate money as if it were his own.  Marty was able to make accurate financial management decisions to best utilize company resources to produce higher profit margins and lower fixed costs.  Marty is a team player and fully respected the chain of command.  He reported to and respected the CEO position even in difficult situations.  Marty also has the ability to come along side a CEO and provide valuable input.  When asked to do so, he quickly accessed the market opportunity and provided a swift recommendation as to the next steps for the company.  Marty ultimately handled the exit of the portfolio company.   Marty is an excellent communicator and is a straight shooter.    I knew if he said it or put it on paper that it was true.
