Why I Chose To Become A CFO In Kentucky

Mar 31, 2011

A wonderful high school counselor recommended accounting as a career for a young female student who loved math. This counselor was also instrumental in helping me get several scholarships to fund my education. After my first accounting class, I was hooked. I have never regretted making the choice to enter into an accounting career. What Eastern Kentucky University didn’t teach me was that being a CFO was so much more than accounting.
So why did I choose to join B2B CFO®?
When I read about B2B CFO®, I realized that this was the opportunity that I had been looking for. Although I have been involved in several different industries, I have found that most accounting functions are the same across the board and I see the great importance of having a CFO in any business. Timely financial statements and accurately reconciled accounts are valuable assets in staying ahead in the business game. Budgeting and planning are great tools to use to maintain financial health. Key metrics and cash flow planning give a business the edge in tough economic times.
As a Part-Time CFO, I see the value of offering an affordable solution to small businesses that need financial advising. So many entrepreneurs do not start with a good financial information base. When you are in the first stages of business development, you are concentrating on what you are good at; you are working to develop the market for your business and providing the best possible service or product. When the business begins to grow, you have to spend more time in financial management. You get caught up in the details of receivables, payables, inventory, etc. and lose sight of your business goal. Cash flow becomes a problem and you can’t get business funding because your financial statements are inaccurate and in some cases non-existent.
As a B2B CFO®, I offer the professional and affordable financial solution to help your business survive and grow. The Intuit/Sage Solution is a great place to start. Many companies have QuickBooks but do not know how to utilize the software to their greatest benefit. I can help you set up your information on QuickBooks and teach you or your employees how to take advantage of the many options available in the software.
Please call me for a free analysis of your business financial health and let me help you make your business more profitable. By doing what I do best, you can invest your valuable time doing what you do best, growing your business.
