Allen Fears


With more than 25 years of experience in the management of publicly-owned and high profile private companies, Allen Fears brings a wealth of knowledge to his clients in achieving their strategic goals and objectives. He has extensive Chief Financial Officer & controllership experience including preparation of Financial Statements, Securities and Exchange Commission filings, audit documentation and execution of complex financing and treasury activities. He is a skilled consultant to ownership regarding business & personal financial matters, including estate planning, and management on business performance. He is an experienced advisor regarding accounting & tax ramifications of policies and programs under consideration.

From 2004 to 2007 he has been CFO of National Sports Services ("NSS"). NSS provides a wide range of consulting services for sports facilities, franchises and municipalities. The firm has provided services ranging from locating and building arenas and stadiums, to revamping struggling franchises, and operating franchises.

Fears provided services for the new owners of the National Football League's Minnesota Vikings during 2005 which included preparing detailed reviews and analyses of all player contracts. In addition Fears analyzed and organized both historic and projected player compensation obligations for the acquisition group. The project also included modeling of short term and long term cash flows for the entire Vikings organization. Fears' efforts helped determine both current and projected financial results of the franchise to more accurately evaluate the team's value. The approximately $600 million acquisition closed in June 2005.

During 2003 and 2004 he performed a 16 month engagement for a Colorado based real estate development organization. Responsibilities included drafting a Private Placement Memorandum for recapitalization of their over 20 legal entities. He also prepared audited combining financial statements, and long-term combining cash flow models.

Fears served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Denver Broncos Football Club from 1997 – 2003 where one of his primary tasks was the development of INVESCO Field at Mile High. He negotiated a $125 million line of credit, closed a $150 million construction loan and secured a $180 million permanent loan. Fears oversaw negotiations for the Broncos' lease arrangements with the Denver Metropolitan Football Stadium District. His responsibilities with regard to the stadium also included monitoring the progress of construction and negotiation of contracts for architecture, general contracting, concessions, naming rights, sponsorships, suites, club seats and facility operations among others.

Prior to joining the Broncos, Fears was Vice President, Treasurer and Controller for EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH). During his 11 years with the EchoStar he was actively involved in securing EchoStar's initial public offering and debt offerings, which totaled nearly $1 billion. His professional career began with a five year stint at Arthur Andersen & Co. from 1980 to 1985.

Fears has received a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Rutgers University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Randolph-Macon College. He is an Inactive Colorado Certified Public Accountant. Fears is a member of the AICPA as well as the Colorado Society of CPA's. He resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife and daughter.
