Debbie Bonicelli, an experienced financial executive for over twenty years, has focused on the healthcare industry, both not for profits and for profits. In a career spanning six years with a “Big 4” accounting firm in Denver and Phoenix, Debbie assisted a variety of privately owned companies with audit and tax services in the Private Business Advisory Services and Audit departments of the firm. During the past seventeen years, working as Controller and CFO with two major multi-facility healthcare systems in Phoenix, Debbie has managed the financial operations of hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, physician practices, joint ventures, home health agencies, assisted and congregate living arrangements, charitable foundations, research ventures, and graduate medical education programs.
In addition to routine financial management, Debbie has developed best practices for both centralized and decentralized accounting and billing departments, led three financial information systems conversions, and designed and implemented productivity monitoring systems. She has been an integral player in major facilities expansions, operational reviews, policy development and implementation, and contract negotiations. These efforts and enhancements have resulted in significant profitability increases for her organizations.
Debbie's strengths include strategic planning, operationalizing new and changing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, team building, project management, and executive/staff education. The depth and breath of her experience is complemented by her enthusiasm, energy, and positive, can do attitude.
Debbie graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where she earned her degree in Management Information Systems, with an Accounting Emphasis, and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1983. She has served on numerous for-profit and non-profit Boards of Directors, and is currently serving her second term in ten years as a member of the Arizona Healthcare Financial Management Association Board. She has been actively involved with both of her children's Parent Teachers' Associations as Treasurer, and was a Girl Scout Co-Leader for five years. Debbie is married to Gerry Kaminski and is the mother of two teenagers, Amanda and Nathan.
