Duane, with 25+ years of experience as Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and Finance Director for organizations nationwide, has been credited with implementing significant enhancements to financial strength in a variety of businesses. Working in diverse organizations with assets ranging from $15 million to $2.9 billion, Duane has developed a strong record as a turnaround specialist instrumental in stabilizing accounting systems, improving operations, and streamlining financial reporting.
With experience in cash flow improvements and economic recovery, Duane has applied his knowledge as a CFO to a variety of businesses in the banking, financial services, governmental, manufacturing, data management and gaming industries. He has also worked as CFO with the business and government operations of Native American Tribes nationwide. Duane has negotiated and structured numerous financing packages ranging in size up to $77 million for expansion projects, new business start-up and debt restructuring. His experience in economic development and related strategic planning is highlighted by his ability to structure major funding packages.
Duane's expertise spans business purchase negotiations, budget management, and organizational structure improvements. He has led key revisions to business-critical internal control and accounting practices to strengthen corporate financial health, market position, and audit results. Duane has coordinated reconstruction of accounting records, recovery from fraud situations, and training for accounting officers. His work has consistently resulted in a return to favorable financial status for many organizations.
Prior to serving as an executive financial consultant, Duane was recruited to supply accounting and asset management administration at a regional financial services and management consulting company serving federal and Native American government clients. In addition, he has participated as CFO in the restructuring of major savings and loan institutions, bringing regulatory reporting current and liquidating assets in receivership status.
Duane has been featured in Who's Who Among Management Professionals, as well as Young and Midwest Professionals editions. He studied business administration in the Master's Degree program at the University of Kansas, holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fort Hays State University and has completed the Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives at Harvard Law School.
Duane is active in a national finance association, and sits on the board of a statewide court advocacy program for children. He resides in Parker, Colorado.
