Donald C. Lightbody
Don is an experienced financial executive with 30 years of successful and practical management of finance, accounting, information technology, human resources and administration for privately held companies. As an owner-executive, he's been actively involved in operations, business acquisitions, quality systems and technology. He has served as secretary and member of the Board of Directors and managed the company's retirement plans (Profit Sharing, ESOP and 401K). Don brings a high integrity, high energy, attitude to help businesses grow and succeed.
Don has managed during periods of rapid growth and through significant downturns. He has directed expansions and contractions of personnel, information systems, physical locations and working capital, enabling companies to meet the challenges facing them.
In the past several years, Don closed numerous acquisitions, handling the purchase/sale agreements, performing due diligence, closing the transaction and assisting in the financial and operational integration with existing businesses.
Additionally, Don has a background in education and has applied those skills in the work environment for training, team building and leadership, and for both written and verbal communications. He works well with all groups within a company, from the owner through all levels of staff, respecting each member for their contribution to the organization.
Graduating with an accounting degree from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Golden Gate University, Don has strong roots in the Bay area and a large network of professionals supporting the business community; including, bankers, accountants, lawyers, insurance providers and other related professionals who can offer valuable assistance to local businesses.
Don and his wife Maureen have been married for 35 years and have raised three children in Saratoga. Don teaches classes as a volunteer in his church and is an active alumni and member of the Board of Fellows of Santa Clara University. When he's not working or volunteering, Don enjoys tennis, golf, travel and music.
