Barry has served in the positions of CFO and controller for a Fortune 500 company, construction firms, real estate developers, and companies operating internationally. He also has experience in commercial banking and in the petroleum services industry.
His experience encompasses large, medium, and small companies that earned revenues as much as $14 billion and as little as $3 million. Barry is skilled in corporate financial planning, project financing, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and business start-ups and he has expertise in construction and project accounting.
Barry had oversight of all the accounting and financial activities of a $500 million project that exceeded profit projections and set company records. He also helped develop and manage strategic plans for the company to obtain its goals for growth and profitability.
He has additional experience in raising capital and negotiating loans and lines of credit. Barry has also acted as company liaison with bankers, insurance providers, attorneys, and public accounting firms to facilitate their services and ensure the timely and adequate performance of their contracted responsibilities.
Barry has a talent for focusing on and identifying problems and inefficiencies of companies and is able to develop and implement measures to fix them.
He earned both his BBA and MBA from Loyola University of New Orleans where he graduated with honors. Barry has expanded his academic experience by being an instructor at the University of Minnesota and the University of Phoenix. He has taught courses in accounting, finance, economics, and international business in both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Additionally, Barry has helped develop, author, and present a number of seminars targeted to non-financial managers covering key topics of finance and accounting. This has resulted in operations personnel returning more profitable results and getting a better understanding of how to improve a companys income.
