As a dynamic and energetic senior financial professional and business leader for over twenty-five years, Derek has a broad range of industry experience ranging from a variety of small entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 100 companies and allows him to bring cutting edge CFO skills set to address the problems of small business owners.

Derek earned his Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southern California and began his career as a "Big Four" auditor with KPMG. He later transitioned to a variety of senior financial roles with companies as diverse as The Walt Disney Company, multi-national conglomerate Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and Lucasfilm Ltd., where he was instrumental in the negotiation of a $2.5 billion contract with Fox Studios for the global distribution of the Star Wars film franchise.

Focusing on his desire to help the small business owner, Derek provides CFO services on a cost effective, as-needed basis. He has developed unparalleled expertise in cash flow management, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, turnarounds/restructuring, risk mitigation, contract negotiations, and ERP systems and control process implementations. Derek has strong analytical and creative problem solving ability and understands the complex financial nuances and pitfalls that can lead to failure for a small company on the rise.

He works closely with the business owner to identify what drives the financial and operational health of the company, and acts as a change agent in building the infrastructure that will ensure sustainable and long-term growth. This perspective has been key to his success as a Controller and Chief Financial Officer for two global hi tech manufacturing and distribution companies, and, more recently, CFO of the premier all Gulfstream Jet Charter service for high net worth individuals.
