George has over 30 years of experience of broad based financial and business experience with small, medium, and medium-large sized companies, particularly with manufacturing, distribution, medical products, and the trade show industries. Having also worked for CPA firms, his experience includes public auditing in various industries including the food processing industries, the focus always seeking to grow the business and make it profitable.
The bulk of his experience lies in the financial aspects of the business such as budgets, cash flow management, financial statements, audit work papers for certified audits, banking and auditor relationships, insurance management, inventory management, standard and job costing, risk management, financing, human resources, creation and maintenance of procedures and policies, and strategic planning for the growth of companies. Much of this reporting led to cost savings, increased cash, and a stronger bottom line.
George worked for companies in their infancy and worked to assist in growing the businesses to mid-sized companies, therefore, gaining valuable experience with the challenges of growing successful companies. This meant involvement with decisions dealing with the various aspects of the companies, especially in the area of cash, inventory management, and sales reporting.
His Visual Basic for Excel programming and Crystal Report writing skills allowed customized reporting thereby producing production, sales, costing, and many other reports and caused the reduction of much valuable processing time. An example of this occurred with GES Exposition services where the monthly preparation of the analytical report sent to Corporate was reduced from four to six hours to a matter of minutes. The Company issued the program to all of their divisions. At U.S. Wood, these skills produced financial statements from four separate computer systems in a matter of a few minutes. This proficiency extends also to complex Excel financial modeling techniques using complex formulas. His systems experience is extensive having managed many software conversions as well as participated in the acquisition of over 10 companies working to integrate systems, processes, and personnel.
His management skills started at the age of 18, when his father gave him the responsibility of managing over 90 laborers in the farm fields of central California. At Fabrica, he was temporarily given the responsibility to build the supervisory team for a production department that grew from 35 to over 110 employees. Since then, he has been the CFO, Controller, or Financial Manager of companies working at the Executive level for over 30 years, mostly working hand in hand with the President or CEO of each company. A born leader, he has proven his management skills over his career.
His inner drive has always been to see growth and success in the companies he worked for finding and developing the areas that will propel the companies to higher sales and profits.
His first Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology came from Western Apostolic Bible College in Stockton, California. Immediately after graduating, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Accounting from California State University of Fullerton, California. He has been married for 34 years and has a son and a daughter.
