Helen Swiatek recently joined B2B CFO^® with thirty-five years experience, running the gamut from entry-level accountancy to C-Level executive positions. Beginning as a non-degreed accounting supervisor, working for a major German chemical company, she soon realized that she had both talent and enthusiasm for the area of Financial Management, and, happily, her supervisors agreed, so she set about building a career in the field. Attending classes evenings and weekends, she secured her BS in accounting from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh while she climbed the corporate ladder.

Progress continued in each ensuing position, with success as a Controller with several business units, and Chief Financial Executive at a struggling plant location at Baltimore, Maryland, which she, working closely with the Chief Plant Executive successfully reorganized so that the facility could then be sold. Following that, she accepted an assignment to a newly acquired facility in Passaic, New Jersey, where her task was to reorganize the manufacturing and distribution site and align it with the corporate structure and culture, returning to Pittsburgh to the position Director of Controlling for the Industrial Chemicals business unit of the same German chemical company after successful completion of that project. Later, she was recruited to lead the multi-faceted project for the installation of the financial modules of the corporation's global SAP Management Software, with a team of hundreds in locations around the world. These projects were completed, on time and within budget. She was then called upon to lead the corporation's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance project, which resulted in a "no material weaknesses" assessment for the global organization – a rare and remarkable achievement. And, later, when the company chose to de-certify, she led the "unwind" of the U.S. organization and holding company, and the dispersal and re-allocation and re-assignment of the personnel involved.

Over the years, Helen has been responsible for Financial Management, including Reporting, Forecasting, Controls, Budgeting, Planning, General Management, and Operations, and also the disciplines surrounding it. She has overseen Purchasing, Human Resources, Accounts Payable and Receivables, including Collections, Logistics, Administration, Union Relations, and Audit Coordination, with both inside and outside auditors, Risk Management, including Environmental and Safety Compliance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and also Customer Service. Her skill set includes strong working knowledge of IT functions. She is adept at developing and implementing effective policies programs and procedures. With Helen in charge of the ‘inside" functions, these businesses were able to address Sales and Marketing from a position of strength, with the structure in place and under control, allowing the Owner or CEO to concentrate on maximizing profitability, and, thus, Value.
