John has over 25 years of diverse financial management experience in corporate treasury, finance, and accounting serving as a Vice President and Treasurer, Corporate Officer and Finance Director for public and private companies in the real estate, automobile rental and leasing, consumer goods and entertainment industries. His ability to identify critical financial issues affecting operational performance and to lead cross-functional teams in implementing cost improvements resulted in significant enhancements to the organization’s cash flow, operating profits and balance sheet management.

John has directed all aspects of corporate finance and accounting responsibilities for organizations facing financial challenges and his proven strengths in improving liquidity, mitigating financial risk, raising capital and improving financial planning have helped ensure each organization’s viability. He has extensive experience with treasury workstations, enterprise resource planning and accounting software systems, and has successfully developed policies and procedures to improve internal controls, safeguard assets and maximize cash flow. John has served as an advisor and subject matter expert to senior management, boards of directors, lenders and the rating agencies, as well as a mentor and team leader for staff members, colleagues and outside counsel.

After earning an accounting degree from Clemson University, John began his career in financial services, moved to accounting roles in consumer durables companies, and obtained his CPA license in New Jersey. He then moved on to finance leadership roles, first for a startup division of a global electronics manufacturer and entertainment company while earning his MBA in finance at night, then as a treasury leader for a global rental and leasing company. John earned his Certified Treasury Professional designation in 2006. After assisting the private equity buyers with the sale of the company, John joined a public residential real estate company in a senior finance role just in time to assist with the difficult financial conditions besieging residential real estate. Through such adversity, John realized his passion is to contribute to an organization’s well being by tackling financial issues with integrity, planning for the future and implementing fiscal programs to achieve organizational goals.

John resides in the Chicago, Illinois suburbs with his wife of 24 years, Lisa and their two young sons. In his spare time, John enjoys teaching his boys sports, playing golf, reading and learning about new businesses and industries.
