Tom is a results-driven business executive with over thirty years of experience in finance and business planning, helping organizations in a wide range of industries to improve profits, protect and grow revenue, and achieve above-market returns. Toms financial expertise spans a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, automotive, electronics, robotics, aerospace, nuclear services, pharmaceuticals, water purification, and retail. He has held financial leadership positions with public and private companies including start-ups, middle market, private equity and Fortune 100 businesses. Toms focus in financial management and business planning is on the development of strategies for growing revenues and profit on a sustainable basis. He will make the commitment to learn your business, understand your industry, and develop a genuine understanding of your customers needs. His core expertise includes strategic planning, profit improvement, cash and asset optimization, and designing the processes and infrastructure required to support and facilitate growth. He is also a major advocate of developing a continuous improvement culture and in closely monitoring financial performance. Toms experience as a CFO extends to nearly every facet of your businesss financial needs. He has helped companies forecast cash, restructure and renegotiate bank covenants, improve working capital performance, improve margins and reduce month-end closing cycles. He has initiated and executed complex financial transactions, business acquisitions, divestitures, management buyouts, and the establishment of business entities and operations in foreign countries. He has developed comprehensive budgets that involve participation across the organization and an ongoing analysis of results against goals. He has managed investments, including pension funds with values approaching $1 billion. He has designed management reporting systems. A critical aspect of his focus is on process improvement, working closely with management to identify and monitor the information they need to successfully improve their organizations. He has overseen several business system conversions, from identification of a companys needs through the selection and full implementation of new business software. As a CFO, Tom has led several organizations through business transformationboth cultural and operational. Recently, Tom served as president for John Crane Production Solutions, a combination of two family-owned businesses. Tom developed a strategy that resulted in a 100% increase in sales and a 200+% increase in profit. As part of this new strategy, the company expanded operations in Mexico, Romania, and China. This major business improvement included manufacturing rationalization, supply chain management initiatives, implementation of centers of excellence, real estate acquisition and divestiture, and plant and office relocations. He has also led searches for, and leasing of, facilities with responsibility for contract negotiations, construction build-outs and for securing available tax and training incentives. In addition to finance, Tom has been responsible for business development, human resources, information technology, customer service, and risk management. He has served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and as a Division President, positions that have broadened his views on driving sustainable top-line revenue growth and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This diverse experience provides Tom with a unique skillset, and has made him an invaluable business partner with a strategic, market and operations approach to consistently delivering value and improving the returns above expectations. Experienced in human resource matters, Tom has bargained union contracts and executed the administration of defined benefit plans. He has also implemented a broad range of retirement plans, including defined contribution and nonqualified executive plans. Tom has also designed and modified benefit plans to maximize employee services and reduce business cost. Tom holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He also earned his Masters in Business Administration from Syracuse University. Tom attended specialized management training at both Northwestern University and the University of Michigan Business School. Tom and his wife Debbie live in the suburbs of Chicago, and have three children. The family is active in their church, and enjoys golf, skiing and traveling.
