Charles brings a unique breadth of diverse experience having held executive positions in finance and operations in a variety of international firms spanning several industries. These industries include private equity real estate and venture investing, telecommunications, multi-media educational publishing, semiconductors, personal computing, consumer electronics, maritime shipping, and offshore oil drilling.

He has high tech venture experience as both an investment manager and within startup companies. At Westlake Charles managed the Trust reporting and a $100M portfolio of international technology and other investments. Charles co-founded Poqet PC (Fujitsu Personal Systems) where he later assumed a post in France helping pioneer the product's introduction into the European market. At Mass Microsystems (a publicly traded NASDAQ company), Charles served in both operations and as their CFO. In addition to being their CFO, Charles is a co-inventor of Omnivergent's patent pending networking technology. By resolving tax, audit and other due diligence issues, he positioned ESS Technology for a successful IPO. While at Fairchild, he worked in both finance and operations managing commercial and high reliability product lines. Additional governmental contracting experience includes acting as the primary contact to NASA for BAMTA. Notable consulting clients include a telephone reseller, CBM Inc., which pioneered the sale of T1 dial tone and Pario which developed a RADIUS server that was adopted by 5 RBOCs and a like number other Telco-owned ISPs, later sold to Lucent.

Early experience at Crowley Maritime included a posting in Singapore, and Indonesia where he co-founded the first Indonesian offshore oil drilling company. Charles is a California CPA with experience at Ernst and Ernst (E&Y), holds a BS in Accounting from Humboldt State, and has done graduate work at Cal State Hayward.
