Joanie has been serving in part-time CFO positions since 1990 when she began Accounting for Profits, Inc. She has worked with small and midsized businesses providing CFO services, Strategic Planning, Banking Relationships, Computer Installations, Litigation Support & Expert Witness, Estate and Tax Planning, Staff training and supervision, Start-ups, Consolidations,  Sells, Exit and Sucession Planning.  Various part-time positions have included:

Prior to serving multiple clients simutaneously, Joanie joined AC3 Computers, Inc. at a time when they were near bankruptcy. During the 4 years she served as CFO, financing was secured, sales grew from $10 Million to exceed $100 Million, mutliple sales tax audits were completed successfully, payroll tax penalties were abated and stores grew from 7 to 29 across the U.S. During all 4 years they were named in INC's 100 Fastest Growing Companies, one year as #4.

Additionally, Joanie served as Director of Planning for Drummond Coal Company after the purchase of Alabama By-Products and the Tarrant Coke Plant.  In these positions,  underground coal mines were projected and directed for maximum tonnage at minimum cost, strip mine was re-routed under Warrior River, washers refurbished, coke plant updated, reclamation and pollution issues reviewed for maximum efficiencies at lowest costs.     

Joanie brings an element of high energy, calm consideration and understanding to any task at hand. Recognizing personality types and individual's strengths and weaknesses, she can increase efficiencies in operations, sales, administration, and management. Her financial savvy and ability to turn chaos into calm helps to keep her clients focused and profit oriented.

Joanie graduated with honors from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Christian Counseling. She is certified as a Partner in Peacemaking. She was awarded the SBA Accounting Advocate of the year in 1997. She is  Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow. She served her 3,000 member church as the Finance Team Chairperson. She served as President of The Planning Forum and The Women's Business Ownership Council. She was nominated as Avon's Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year.

Personally Joanie enjoys spending time with family, friends and her first granddaughter. They enjoy lake activities, boating, travel, the arts and times spent together. Joanie is the Founder and Facilitator of Hope for the Heart, a Mom's group for women that have lost a child.
