Mike Maples draws on 30+ years of CFO/CPA experience to address your unique issues. For 24+ years, Mike has been focused on improving internal performance of personal service and manufacturing/distribution companies following 8 years of traditional CPA firm experience ranging from the technical issues of a Big 4 firm to the practical demands of a sole practitioner.

Mike uses his unique experience to bring a creditable, cooperative, and independent voice to your management team. He gains the confidence of others to develop critical objectives and the systems used to monitor and assess subsequent progress towards those goals. Mike has motivated and managed through significant transitions, critical litigation, and periods of fast growth in organizations from startup to $150 million in revenue. Working with funding sources ranging from personal or family capital to hedge funds and equity investors, in both public and private environments, he understands what is required to succeed with these varied partners.

Specific experience includes: management of corporate level functions including finance/accounting, human resources, marketing, and information systems in personal service and manufacturing/distribution environments; and specific projects addressing crisis management, performance management, strategic planning, score carding, refinancing, financial modeling; special internal and statutory reporting; operational analysis; as well as development and management of due diligence, closing support, and operational integration for over 20 acquisitions.

Mike, a native of the Springfield-Branson, Missouri area, received an accounting degree from Southwest Missouri University and moved to Kansas City to work with a Big 4 CPA firm. He returned to Springfield, purchased a CPA practice in Branson and worked with small and emerging companies until he sold the firm and returned to the Kansas City area. Since then Mike has successfully contributed to a series of significant financial and operationally challenging situations, the most recent of which involved a move back to Southwest Missouri. Mike and Karen, his wife of thirty five years, love to explore the Ozarks and other destinations when not spending time with friends and family.
