Paul R. Shackford

Paul is a Certified Public Accountant with over 37 years of experience in public accounting, in private enterprises, and in owning and operating his own business. He was a senior manager with KPMG Peat Marwick, the Controller of Revlon, and the CFO of several mid-sized public and private enterprises, including manufacturers, service companies, and the American Stock Exchange. He was also a consulting CFO for the NY Yankees for a short time.
Paul has in-depth and hands-on experience in all areas of business and finance matters, including cost control, asset management, budgeting and forecasting, analysis, financial reporting, treasury, tax, acquisitions and dispositions, and information systems. He has been heavily involved with corporate restructurings and financings, including raising capital through the issuance of equity and debt. Having been the CFO of public and private organizations, Paul has worked closely with banks to negotiate and ensure compliance with lending arrangements, and has also been involved with the significant restructuring of a company in bankruptcy proceedings.
In 2001, Paul opened a franchise design, copy and print business center, where he managed all aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, production, human resources, and other areas. He grew the operation from a start-up to a profitable business, and then sold the company in 2007.
Paul's experience has provided him with a vast and broad level of expertise that is needed to operate a company in today's economy. Not only has he seen a variety of manufacturing and service companies from the perspective of outside auditor and inside senior financial executive, he has also been the owner of a businesshe knows first-hand what it takes to successfully run an organization.
He has been instrumental in providing business and financial guidance in many critical areas:
- Financial restructurings, downsizings, and strategic planning
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow planning and analysis
- Product line profitability analysis
- Creation of business analysis models to project the impact of possible acquisitions or business ventures
- Improving monthly reports to be more comprehensive, reliable, and timely
- Presenting financial results to management, boards of directors, banks, and other outside stakeholders
- Streamlining and improving system controls and transaction processing of billings, collections, purchases, payments, and other financial areas
- Improving integration of financial and non-financial departments within organizations, resulting in cost reductions and improved quality of products and services
- Outsourcing of financial functions
- Insurance analysis, including workers compensation and liability exposure
- Instituting guidelines for investment of funds
- Mergers and acquisitions of organizations and product lines
Paul uses his expertise as he works closely with business owners, calling on his exposure to the many diverse aspects of a business, together with his ability to understand the issues and dynamics of running a business.
Paul received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania in 1972. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the AICPA. He is very involved in financial, social justice, and other activities in his church and diocese. He is married and has two daughters in their mid-20's.
