Scott is a seasoned business professional with 28 years of experience in financial management and accounting. He has been involved as an integral member of leadership teams that have successfully grown both top and bottom line results. Scott has first hand experience working with growing companies having served as the Senior Finance Executive for the fastest growing division of a multinational publicly traded company that saw revenue growth from $20 million to $300 million a year in a period of five years.

Scott is a CPA who began his career in public accounting and after a few short years was hired by one of his clients as their Controller. During his career Scott has worked in a variety of industries including wholesale distribution, contact centers, professional service firms, software development, construction, entertainment, government, and non-profits. In his various roles, he has spearheaded profit improvement initiatives that have produced millions in annualized savings, has worked to achieve increased operating margins during periods of declining revenues and downward pricing pressures, and has developed sophisticated pricing models and other financial reporting tools that have been deployed as best practices across a multinational company. His focus on key performance measures has helped insure that the companies he worked for were focusing on improved profits, financial accountability, and building shareholder value. During his career, Scott has implemented numerous accounting systems and has been involved in number of M&A projects.

Of all his experiences, Scott has enjoyed working with small and mid-sized businesses the most. He enjoys getting in, rolling up his selves, and watching a company grow from small beginnings to a thriving business in the community. Scott understands the challenges that small and mid-size firms face and is a trusted business partner that can help you successfully navigate through the minefields that could cause the failure of your business. Scott understands the importance of cash flow and will work with you to develop accurate and timely cash flow forecasts that will help you to more effectively manage this most important asset. With his background as an adjunct accounting instructor at Weber State University, Scott is uniquely qualified to train your staff so they have a better understanding of accounting principles and concepts and function more effectively in their roles making them more valuable to your organization. Scott graduated with a BA degree in Accounting from Weber State University in 1982. He later earned his MBA degree from Utah State University in 1999. He has remained active at his alma mater by serving as a member of the Weber State Accounting Advisory Board as well as teaching accounting courses. Scott is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international Honor Society in Business and Management. Scott also belongs to several professional organizations including the Utah Association of CPAs (UACPA), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

Scott is the father of seven children and the grandfather of four. He resides in Layton, Utah with his wife, LeAnn, and their four unmarried children. He is active in his church and community serving in various capacities including working for the past several years in numerous volunteer positions with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoys spending time with this family and especially watching and coaching his children in their various athletic, musical, and other pursuits.
