Perhaps you read in last week's Oregonian about the bookkeeper that embezzled about $100,000. This is the most recent in a string of thefts by accountants and bookkeepers that the Oregonian has reported over the past months. This theft resulted in her employer, a Hillsboro charter school, losing about half of its teachers because it cannot now pay them.
