{"id":449,"date":"2020-03-30T00:50:38","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T00:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.b2bcfo.com\/brian-christian\/?p=449"},"modified":"2022-12-20T20:29:53","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T20:29:53","slug":"success-is-a-daily-pursuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.b2bcfo.com\/brian-christian\/success-is-a-daily-pursuit\/","title":{"rendered":"Success Is a Daily Pursuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whenever I have had the pleasure of speaking to successful people, no matter how you define success, I almost invariably come away with the following realization:<br \/>\nSuccess is a daily journey with two vital core tenets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Goal Clarity, and<\/li>\n<li>Persistence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Two perfect examples immediately come to mind.\u00a0\u00a0One from several years ago and one from just last week:<\/p>\n<p>Several years ago, I had the pleasure of serving with, and learning from, one of the most talented managers I have ever met.\u00a0\u00a0Prior to my working with him, He enjoyed a long and successful career managing distribution and warehouse operations for one of\u00a0America\u2019s best known retailers.<\/p>\n<p>This manager was \u201cMr. Fix It\u201d when it came to transforming his company\u2019s worst performing distribution centers.\u00a0\u00a0He had a well earned reputation of turning around centers in some of this country\u2019s worst urban environments.\u00a0\u00a0In multiple cases he was brought into situations where the culture among the employees within the distribution center was rife with turn-over, absenteeism and harassment (both mental and physical) resulting from racial conflict and gang activity.<\/p>\n<p>When I asked him how he was able to be successful given the volatile and stressful nature of these kinds of environments, he simply said \u201cpatience and persistence\u2026that, and strong belief that the changes I was making were the right things to do\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0He then said something I have never, ever forgotten.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cBrian\u201d he said \u201cYou know\u2026Rome\u00a0wasn\u2019t built in a day\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0I replied, \u201cyes\u2026I\u2019ve heard that before\u201d. He paused, then said \u201cBut, it was built daily!!!<\/p>\n<p>Exactly a week ago, our Founder and CEO, Jerry L.
