John has extensive business experience as a CFO and senior financial executive, from startups to multi-billion-dollar companies over a 20-plus-year work career. John’s industry experience includes finance, garment/textile, trading, e-commerce, wholesale, and manufacturing. John oversees all aspects of the business, including accounting, finance, strategic planning/analysis, taxes, auditing, risk management, investment, ERP systems, HR, and the management of overseas subsidiaries... John has been able to perform and manage all of the jobs above, from a managerial level to a hands-on level. He has a deep understanding of the business operation so that the business owners can identify and resolve all types of problems and make the work-process more efficient. In particular, he has coordinated the development of a company-owned ERP system and customized SAP R3 system, including the sales, production, inventory, managerial accounting, and reporting modules. In addition, he has participated in risk management to handle the company’s assets, such as cash, investments, A/R, and inventory, as well as preventing misconduct by employees.
John has gained experience in the management of overseas subsidiaries and branches at various companies, such as Samsung. He conducted an economic feasibility study on an automotive components project in the Philippines and set up a new garment factory in Vietnam. He performed traveling audits as an internal auditor for overseas subsidiaries and branches around the world. As a result, John is able to quickly understand the local culture, laws, regulations, and staff so that he can adapt the company’s policy and guidelines appropriately.
John is known as a man of integrity, who is adept at detail-oriented tasks while keeping the bigger picture in mind. He has a strong desire to be a blessing to the business owners, all the professionals, and the community.
John has a bachelor’s and master’s degree with a major in public administration from Sung Kyun Kwan University in South Korea and studied accounting at Santa Monica College in California. He is a California-licensed CPA. He and his family moved to California 20 years ago. He is a US citizen. He, his wife, and two daughters reside in Los Angeles County, and his son works in San Francisco. John enjoys hiking, reading, and serving at church.
