Mark is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in Financial, Operational, and Executive Management. Most of his career was spent at Atlantic Richfield and Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, where he worked in various financial and executive management roles in both the U.S. and Europe. One of his primary roles was to evaluate subsidiary companies throughout the world, make recommendations for improvement and assist in the implementation of change in operational and financial systems. This experience enables Mark to evaluate a company's operations, quickly identify areas needing improvement, and develop action plans for such improvement. His proven ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and cultures in a WW matrix organization, has led to dramatic profitability improvement in many businesses.
Mark has a strong passion to share his business experience with companies to help them maximize profitably. He is able to bring his skills as a successful change agent into small and large companies, implementing controls, KPIs, and systems that help companies profitably grow to the next level of sales.
Mark also has experience working with smaller businesses. He worked with small entities within Saint-Gobain, some smaller than $10M in sales, and as an owner and president of three privately held companies. Mark's experience is primarily with manufacturing companies, but he also has industry experience in distributorships, mining, oil and gas, commercial contracting, and insurance. He has worked to solve strategic challenges in both high growth and mature companies.
Divestitures, acquisitions, and integration of acquired companies is where Mark also has a lot of experience to bring to his clients. While working for Saint-Gobain, he had leadership roles in over 30 acquisitions of companies in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. The majority of the acquisitions were under $50M in sales, but he was heavily involved in the acquisitions of Furon (a publicly owned company with $500M in sales), the Carborundum subsidiary of British Petroleum ($250M in sales), Chemfab ($175M in sales), and NPT ($85M in sales).

Mark has always been able to present his ideas clearly and concisely, enabling senior management to understand proposals for change, the impact to the organization, and the expected results. An accomplished listener, he is able to identify client needs and their business constraints. Throughout his career, Mark has dealt with difficult business issues and understands the need for confidentiality and integrity, coupled with direct, honest, communication with the leaders of the organizations.
Mark is a native of Louisville and the 5th generation of his family to live in Louisville. He graduated from Transylvania University with a business degree and received his MBA from Bellarmine University, while working full time. Mark and his wife have three daughters who have all graduated from college and are living in MA and NC. While his children were growing up, they had an opportunity to live in a lot of different places, including Los Angeles, Russellville (KY), Paris (France), Newcastle-upon-Tyne (England), Randolph (NJ), and Westborough (MA). Mark is active in One Southern Indiana Chamber & Business Development and was one of the founding members of their successful Metro Manufacturing Alliance.
