39 Years of Experience
I provide strategic management advisory services to owners of privately held companies to improve cash flow, earnings and company value. I help guide my clients to:
Owners of privately held companies hate surprises, especially when the surprise is lower than expected company cash. I know the discipline that can minimize surprises in future cash flows and I have the skills and experience to help companies obtain sufficient working capital by securing bank loans.
A company can quickly grow itself out of business. By planning strategically and setting milestones, I assist business owners in growing their companies profitably while increasing EBITDA and related company value.
Many business owners have not planned how they are going to exit their company. Our book, The Exit Strategy Handbook, our patented B2B Exit® software and my 20 plus years of M&A experience are key resources to help business owners achieve their personal goals and maximize their returns upon the sale of their company.
As an accomplished senior financial executive with more than three decades of financial and IT management experience as a CFO, my passion is to help business owners solve their immediate challenges, achieve long-term goals and plan for a successful transition as they exit their company.
As businesses grow, my extensive IT project management skills are key to assist companies making the transition from basic accounting systems to fully integrated ERP systems. Quickly understanding complex business initiatives and techniques helps me assess and develop the key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive success in any business model.
I started my career with Ernst & Young in public accounting in their Houston, TX and Baltimore, MD offices. Residing in the State College, PA area (home of Penn State University) for the last 35 plus years, I enjoy hiking and the outdoors, tennis, pickle ball, golf and the many sports and cultural events associated with a major university environment. My second home in Naples, Florida allows me to enjoy the ocean and outdoor activities in sunny southwest Florida.
When you become a client of mine, I promise to reduce your stress about cash flow worries and improve your chances of obtaining a bank loan. We will work together to help you strategically grow your company while increasing profits and EBITDA. This will help prepare you for the eventual exit from your company by maximizing your returns based on your personal goals.
We follow a process known as the Gameplan™, which includes the following steps to get started:

As outlined in our founder Jerry Mill's award willing book (The Danger Zone - Lost in the Growth Transition), one of the biggest concerns of privately-held business owners is to make sure they have enough cash and the proper financing in place to profitably grow their business. If they don't have a complete understanding of the future cash needs and the applicable financing in place it will restrict growth and create cash flow worries and related stress.
Privately-held business owners put their heart and soul into their business throughout their lifetime building an enormous amount of sweat equity. As they near retirement, they may not maximize their enterprise value and related proceeds upon the exit from their company unless they follow the proven process that we have developed at B2B CFO.
