Dave is a CPA with 25 years of diverse experience in Big 4, corporate finance (small, large and startup companies) and corporate audit. He has been a CFO for a $20 million property development and management company, and a VP Finance & Controller responsible for all financial functions for a $3.5 billion division of a computer sales and service company, including management of 95 employees in several regional locations.

Dave can help you as a business owner align your operating budgets to your business goals, and then he has the project management experience to oversee process improvement projects to make progress towards these goals. He has started and led financial planning and analysis functions for both a Fortune 500 Company as well as an international telecom startup. He has significant experience developing budgets that work, as well as monitoring performance during the year with updated forecasts and score carding to measure progress toward goal attainment. He can develop financial models to analyze the cash impact for proposed changes and work with an owner to develop and implement the scenario that makes the most positive cash impact. Dave has also been VP Corporate Audit for an $8 billion electronic commerce company, so he knows how to complete projects to make both internal control and process improvements that are cost effective.

In addition Dave has a significant M&A background. This includes negotiating and leading financial integration efforts to close 12 deals in Top 50 MSAs, which helped grow the computer sales and service division from $100 million to $3.5 billion over a 9 year period, completing financial modeling and due diligence for a $370 million sale of a distribution business and for a $2 million syndication of a 176-unit apartment complex to accredited investors. Dave also currently performs valuation modeling and financial due diligence for a private equity firm for companies in a variety of industries, so he can help you determine both the value of your business and improvements to generate more cash to increase its value.

Dave has lived in Omaha since graduating from the University of South Dakota with an accounting degree, and he lives with his two sons. The oldest attends UNO and the youngest attends UNL after recently graduating from Creighton Prep. He is involved in a number of organizations, including Financial Executives International, Midlands Venture Forum, and the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, and he is a member of the AICPA and the Nebraska Society of CPAs.
