Can a CFO (“bean counter”) really help increase sales?

Many people in business wouldn’t think so.  But the answer is yes.  A good CFO takes care of things you would otherwise be distracted by, thereby freeing you up to increase sales.  If you are like most small and medium sized business owners, you have gradually over many years allowed yourself to get away from the highest and best uses of your time.  Instead of hunting for new clients, customers, processes, products, suppliers, etc. you now spend a great deal of time at the office dealing with HR issues, the 401(k), the lawyer, the tax accountant, the broken down photocopier, etc.  Please review the concept of Finders, Minders and Grinders for a discussion of this topic. Suffice it to say, a good CFO will, at least indirectly, help you increase sales.
